The United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) is participating in a big way at the Arab Media Summit 2025, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The event, organised by the Dubai Press Club, is being held from May 26 to 28 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. This participation reflects UAEU’s strong commitment to supporting the digital transformation unfolding across the media sector and enhancing its role in key regional and global platforms that shape the future of the media industry.

His Excellency Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, Chancellor of the United Arab Emirates University, stated that the university’s presence at the summit reaffirms its dedication to the advancement of Arab media and its role in driving cultural, intellectual, and social progress. He commended the UAE’s exemplary record in organising major events that gather leaders, decision-makers, and experts from across the Arab world – positioning the country as a global hub for media innovation and intellectual discourse.

His Excellency added: “At UAEU, we believe in the vital integration between education and real-world practice. We are committed to ensuring that higher education institutions are active partners in shaping a promising and responsible new generation of media professionals. Our participation in this summit provides a valuable platform to highlight the university’s academic and research efforts in digital media, artificial intelligence in mass communication, and the development of youth media skills – along with showcasing distinguished media professionals the university has contributed to society.”

Her Excellency Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Vice President and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council and Chairperson of the Dubai Press Club, welcomed UAEU’s participation, stating:“This important involvement will significantly enrich the professional dialogue with an academic perspective that focuses on major media transformations. It reaffirms the pivotal role of universities and academic institutions in preparing young media professionals capable of keeping pace with rapid changes and harnessing technological advancements to promote Arab media and its global competitiveness.” She also praised UAEU’s prominent status as a leading national university known for its contributions to scientific research and for preparing qualified national talent across various disciplines.

UAEU’s participation includes involvement in the region’s largest media gathering, featuring a broad spectrum of regional and international stakeholders. The summit hosts a series of expert panel discussions and workshops focused on media and emerging technologies.

On the first day of the summit, UAEU alumni participated in two panel discussions titled ‘New Opportunities in the Labour Market and the Business Sector’ and ‘Youth and Media: Be an Influencer.’ The second day will feature international experts in a series of sessions hosted by the university, focusing on the future of digital marketing. These include ‘Media in the Digital Marketing Era,’‘Smart Marketing,’ and ‘Innovation in Digital Content.’ The third and final day will spotlight innovation in media and entrepreneurship through a range of specialised workshops such as ‘Transforming Ideas into Digital Media Firms,’‘Digital Minds,’‘When Codes Speak,’‘Smart Robots,’ and ‘Drama and Media Production: From Screen to Digital Platforms.’

This strategic participation reflects UAEU’s continuous efforts to promote visionary thinking and enhance awareness of the challenges and opportunities in the Arab media landscape. By focusing on AI, innovation, and entrepreneurship in digital media, the university underscores its role in intellectual development and its contribution to shaping a forward-thinking, competitive media future for the region.
